Big 29

Happy Birthday to me! I may be getting up there in age, but that doesn't mean I won't take advantage of an offer to sleep past 6:15 am, a couple of hours of kid-free shopping, some pretty flowers, a good steak dinner out, & a kitchen decked in streamers. It was a good one.

Thomas looks mildly depressed. Maybe he wishes it was his big day. Or perhaps he's humiliated by what I put on his head.

Just some funny faces from Will. Those who know me well should note what he's eating... I'm proud to say our eldest loves black beans as much as I do. AND he requests the Spanish translation of words sometimes. AND counts en espanol just as much as he does in English. For real. Way to go, Guillermo!

Living it up in the Playroom

So apparently I've exaggerated how atrocious the haircut is. I still think it's too short overall, and too crooked in the back. Is it worth stressing about? Probably not.

Since it's way too hot for my liking, we've been indoors most days...here are the boys in action yesterday afternoon. Oh--and I've forgotten to mention that Thomas has two teeth and has been crawling for a few weeks. These nine months have flown! Now it's even crazier around here...T is getting into W's stuff, and let's just say big brother is not amused.

Facelift

Thanks to my friend Becca, I found this cool website that offers free blog templates. Check simplychicblogs out if you need a new look!

A lesson in vanity from a 2 year old?

I can't bear to post a picture yet, but let's just say my dear husband butchered our son's hair. I'm not sure what possessed him, but he decided to "finish up" the buzz cut I had already begun to give Will. I was using the hair clippers--since it's impossible to make a mistake with those--but while I was upstairs with Thomas, he pulled out SCISSORS. And now, poor little Will's hair is way high over the ears and about halfway up the back of his head. And uneven. Is it wrong that I was embarrassed to take him to Super WalMart today? At least Will doesn't seem to mind. Colin, we do love you so, but please, PLEASE do not approach our children with scissors ever again. Pictures will ensure when I have recovered a bit more from this trauma.
