Birthday Boy

To celebrate Colin's 30th, the whole Gallahan family met up in NYC for the weekend... SO fun! Will stayed with Mimi & Granddad in Richmond (and bought out every single toy at the neighborhood yard sale), but Thomas got to fly for the first time and lived it up in the Big Apple. We wandered around the city, saw Spamalot, ate lots of great food, visited Derek & Renee's Manhattan apartment, and braved the masses of people everywhere we went. The highlight for Colin was his attendance at the NFL draft...those of you who know him well should appreciate what this meant to him :) He did have to wait in line from 4-10am Saturday morning in order to get a ticket, but he was rewarded with his very own seat in Radio City Music Hall to witness what he's always loved watching on TV... and no, I didn't go. I got to catch up with my good college friend Stephanie instead, which was wonderful. I love love love pretending like I live in a big city (especially that one) for a time, but it was calming to get back to the 'burbs. Back to my car, grassy backyard, and peaceful neighborhood streets. It does make me remember how much I love travel though...with kids, it's hard to get away, but I look forward to future adventures as the boys get older...

Oh so tasty

Greedy little Thomas has been trying to grab my food for weeks now, and tonight he almost succeeded in stealing my french toast and popping it into his own mouth. I was holding off on introducing cereal out of laziness...I had no desire to add another food prep/messy dining experience to the routine. Oh well--this kid obviously wanted something new for a change, and he could not get enough of that nasty rice cereal all moms feel compelled to bring out first. Yummy...

I love Will's cheesy smile! It was hot today--I thought a t-shirt & crocs were good enough for the backyard. Who wants to do more laundry than necessary?!

We're still here :) Here are the little guys in action...

(Almost) 5 months already? I can't get over how fast Thomas' first year is passing by... He's finally sleeping through the night now, at least most of the time, so hopefully I can start catching up on some sleep! And don't you think he sort of resembles me? Considering Will is a clone of Colin, it's fun for me to see a little of myself in this littlest one.



We do a lot of puzzles around here... I just discovered that Kaplan toys (know the catalog?) is headquartered here, so we took a little trip there this week & picked up some new ones...

We've had a relaxing weekend--Colin was off, so we stayed at home most of yesterday except for dinner at Moe's (yep, burritos again. It's an addiction.) Colin & I did go out for dinner (believe it or not, not to Chipotle/Qdoba/Moe's) for our anniversary on Friday...We don't get out much, so we of course forgot to make reservations and had to stop by several restaurants before finding one without a huge wait. But the new babysitter got Will to sleep, Thomas didn't wake up 10 minutes after we left, the Italian was yummy (as were the McD hot fudge sundaes for dessert... Fancy...) & my hair was not in a ponytail. What a success!
